Billing & Plans
Manage your auftakt subscription, payment method, and billing history.
auftakt has three plans: a free tier and two paid plans (Basic and Pro). You can manage your subscription from Settings → Billing.
Plans
Free
The free plan is always available — no credit card required. It includes:
- Unlimited time tracking sessions
- Up to 3 clients
- Up to 50 time entries
- Up to 5 invoices
- Basic reporting
- Invoices branded with auftakt
Great for getting started or for freelancers with a very small client base.
Basic — from €3.99 / $4.99 per month
Basic unlocks more room to grow:
- Everything in Free
- Up to 10 clients
- Up to 500 time entries
- Up to 50 invoices
- White-label invoices (no auftakt branding)
- Email support
- 7-day free trial
Pro — from €6.99 / $7.99 per month
Pro removes all limits:
- Everything in Basic
- Unlimited clients
- Unlimited time entries
- Unlimited invoices
- Advanced billing features (tax rates, fixed-fee entries)
- Custom logo on invoices
- Priority support
- 7-day free trial
Pro is recommended for active freelancers and consultants who bill multiple clients regularly.

Upgrading your plan
- Go to Settings → Billing.
- Click Upgrade next to the plan you want.
- Choose monthly or yearly billing (yearly saves approximately 15%).
- Enter your payment details and confirm.
The upgrade takes effect immediately. Your billing cycle starts on the day you upgrade.
Yearly billing discount
Both Basic and Pro are available on a yearly billing cycle at a discounted rate:

Managing your payment method
- Go to Settings → Billing → Payment method.
- Click Update to add or replace a credit or debit card.
All payments are processed securely via Stripe. auftakt does not store card numbers.
Viewing billing history
Under Settings → Billing → Invoices, you can see all past payments with the date, amount, and status. Click any invoice to download a PDF receipt.
Cancelling your subscription
- Go to Settings → Billing.
- Click Cancel subscription and confirm.
Your paid access continues until the end of the current billing period. After that, your account reverts to the free plan. No data is lost — you will simply be subject to the free plan limits.
Refund policy
We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied with auftakt within 30 days of your first payment, contact us and we will issue a full refund.
